This setup is often used for more portable options such as crutching trailers, for crutching/dagging in yards, or assembling on a backing board for mobile shearing. The flexi works with pin drive handpieces and takes standard long handpiece ferrules (ferrules sold separately)
The assembly includes the following items:
1 x 177-10220 Top Sleeve
1 x 289-14930H Flexible outer casing complete with Inner steel core and Pin Drive bayonet (for handpiece end)
1 x 177-10640 Headed Spline Joint Assembly (for machine end)
Please note that if you want to use a Spline Drive fitting at the handpiece end, this will not prevent a lock-up when used in conjunction with a flexible downtube. You may also find that when the plant is switched off after each sheep, that the handpiece will disengage itself away from the flexi, when using this fitting.
Industry standard is to use a Pin Drive Handpiece on a Flexi drive (Pin drive spindles are available for most handpieces as a spare part, if you want to change your handpiece over)
